Es un verbo modal que nos indica probabilidad o posibilidad en futuro y por lo tanto no cambia para la tercera persona

example:

I may go out tonight

Puedo salir esta noche

NEGATIVA

Tampoco se contraen en la forma negativa. No decimos mayn't, sino may not

She may not go to work today

Pueda que no vaya a trabajar hoy
